David Diez

After graduating in Biological Sciences at the University of Salamanca, and specializing in Biological Conservation at the University Complutense of Madrid, David started a Ph.D. in Population Genetics at the University of Girona, which  focused on discovering the genetic evolutionary framework that underlies the successful life history of mosquitofish (Gambusia holbrooki), a highly aggressive invader in Mediterranean streams. As part of the BEAN project, David investigates how the availability of both modern and ancient genomic data can be used through modelling and computer simulations in order to detect past demographic events useful to explain controversial aspects of the Neolithic transition
