Zuzana Fajkošová

Palaeogenomic / Biostatistical analysis of ancient DNA data from Mesolithic and Neolithic skeletal remains

Zuzana Fajkošová  received her B.S. in Anthropology from Masaryk University in Brno, and Master's degree in Anthropology and Genetics  from Charles University in Prague. She  is working with Joachim Burger to analyze ancient DNA from the bones of the last hunter-gatherers and the first settled farmers in the region between western Anatolia and the Balkans using  Next Generation Sequencing (NGS).  Zuzana is particularly interested in applying  the latest biomolecular and computational techniques to the unique analytical problems posed by ancient DNA. Zuzana's broader academic interests include using  palaeogenomic data to reconstruct the settlement of Europe, and modern programming methods for biologists.
